Wow nice one. I just found this blog. I have been a big fan of Maria Mckee way back when she was in Lone Justice. She is in my top ten favourite female voices as well. A pity she was only famous for "Show Me Heaven". An amazing singer songwriter who really deserved a lot more than she has got in her career. Thanks for sharing.

She is amazing and like many artists, success is a tuff road.
Maria deserves better, but that seems to be the way it goes with the quality artists out there.

i saw maria once with lone justice (right after shelter) and then once solo right after 'life is sweet' came fact it was 'the first date' for my wife and me.

she loved it and proved to me that she was 'a keeper', see?

this collection is an absolute treasure!
the 'little diva' discs are off the charts!

whether it's personal or if it's bad management, this woman should be recognized WAY more than she is.

either way, thank you!

ps i am DYING to hear maria's version of wish i was your mother!

Camarillo Brillo said...

thanks again for the feedback. I got to see MM a couple times after LJ...She is an absolute dream! Love her to death! Enjoy and thanks again for checking in!

Fantastic stuff. You can't get away from the fact that Maria's never had the success she's deserved and it's good to see her getting praise where praise is due.

Well said!

Thanks so much for this! I am an old WHFS fan from years ago. Needed Maria's version of "Into the Mystic" for my mom's memorial service, couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks for making my day!

Dear Camarillo Brillo,
I'd love to download
"Into the mystic" and
"Hickory wind" by Maria McKee
but the link you suggest
does not work.
Could you please point me to
the right (valid) link?

Hi, saw Maria in Lone Justice just after their first album was released when the line up had two guitarists and they were great. I'd love to hear this stuff - is their any chance of re-posting as the link seems to be dead?

Camarillo Brillo said...

Wish I had seen them!
Here's a new link:

I discovered you had posted music from Maria Mckee. I love Maria and would love to have these rare tracks. I would greatly appreciate a re-post with links to Rapidshare, File Factory or another upload service, as Megaupload is gone, no more, passed on, joined the choir invisible... this is an ex-upload service

The outakes and rarities collections are a mix of demos and live cuts (with extensive liner notes). Artwork, scans, and que sheets included. I was at the 9:30 show…pretty cool.

Early Demos 1983-84. Fan CD, distributed by the Little Diva Mailing List in the late 1990s. “The true sound of Lone Justice – these demos, some of which were probably recorded in late 1983, just after the band signed to Geffen, are what L.J. were really about. They are obviously not demos for the debut album as they have a raw, unpolished quality that was (to a certain extent) expunged when recording for the album commenced in mid-1984, and the big names were brought in to commercialize the band.” Ex SBD stereo.

Ryan Hedgecock – guitars, acoustic guitar, backing vocals

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
