My system disk bit the dust last week. I bought a used PC and now most of my stuff works. New versions of old programs were downloaded but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to get my recording software to record MP3's using the lame codec.
I have been dead in the water relying on my HP Tablet PC to access the web and email. As all of you probably know this completely sucks! I guess I need to invest in some mirroring software for the system disc. All my music, photos, and other stuff are safely backed up so no issues there.
Anyways...I'm just about ready to post some more stuff but it's going to be in WMA 9.1 format at least until I figure this stuff out...So don't give me any shit! (-;

What This Is All About
I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.
I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.
I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........
Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.
Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!
If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!
I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...

No crap for the world's greatest HFS provider...
gotta love your site and the collection you have.
HERE IS SOME INFO I found Hope it helps you. The LAME encoder really isn't aimed at being distributed, it is more of an intellectual and programming project. If you go to the official site, the only form you will get LAME in is an uncompiled source code. For a compiled version of the latest stable build, v.3.93, download here. LAME is command line operated, meaning if you are a DOS fan, you are in luck. There is a list of operating commands at the main site. If DOS isn't your thing (don't feel bad, it isn't mine either), you can download a number of graphical frontends for the encoder. They work a lot like any of your other programs, just point and click and away you go. Some of the more popular frontends for the LAME encoder are:

Good Luck - from DAVE
thanks Dave
