Gary Moore and The Midnight Blues Band VHS Audio Rip

What we have here is one of the most aweome live videos I have ever had the pleasure to see and here. It is an audio rip from my "An Evening of the Blues with Gary Moore and the Midnight Blues Band" VHS HI-FI video tape. (Recorded to my Pioneer CD Recorder then ripped to my hard drive). With guests such as the late greats Albert Collins and Albert King, this completely kicks major ass! Not included in this audio rip are interviews with Albert King and Albert Collins. Both hail Gary Moore's guitar playing, each urge him to slow down a bit and make each note count. I guess Gary ignored their advise because he shreds here. And of course he has some slower moments too. The tracks with the two Alberts are simply the highlights of this tape. Just a great show. It's still available on Amazon, so if you want the interviews and want to see the video get it! The last two tracks are bonus tracks from the Gary Moore "Live Blues" VHS Video.

Set List:

1. Oh Pretty Woman
2. Walking By Myself
3. All Your Love

1990 The year is marked by a definite turn in Gary Moore's career with the release of his first blues album, Still Got the Blues. The album features covers of standard blues songs as well as Gary Moore originals; guest stars include Albert Collins and George Harrison (on one of his own compositions). The success of the new album was unexpected; it turned out to be the best selling Gary Moore album ever! The single Still Got the Blues even breaks through in the US. That same year George Harrison enrolls Gary Moore for a Traveling Wilburys song, She's my Baby. Was that not the first time you could hear Gary Moore on two different songs on US radios?... Gary Moore gets a chance to play on stage with the "two Alberts" (King and Collins) during his tour; the experience, captured on film (An Evening of the Blues with Gary Moore and the Midnight Blues Band), seems to have been very educative for Gary Moore.

A phenomenal performance of Gary Moore and two other blues greats, Albert King and Albert Collins. Moore's vocals are better than he is in the studio, and his guitar playing is tip top. It's also great to see legendary bluesmen Alert King and Albert Collins, both of whom had little time left in their lives. The video also comes with interviews, and gives some good insight on how King and Collins felt about each other, Gary Moore, and the blues alltogether. It's one of my all-time favorite performances by any artist, and it's a must have for any blues fan.

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
