More WHFS Than You Could Listen To In A Lifetime

Instead of answering requests to re-up past WHFS posts, I'm in the process of uploading all my tapes, and the ones shared with me by others to INTERNET ARCHIVE.

55GB WOW!

Now before anyone gets their panties in an uproar over low bit-rates, I digitized my tapes when disk space was at a premium. Having said that, they sound fine as is. More recent tapes that were sent to me to digitize and share on the blog are MP3/320, some in FLAC even.

It's a boatload enjoy!

I'll be adding to it so check back in the next few days for updates

So good to see you still around! AS an aged Marylander who listened to HFS when the alternatives were pretty week I really appreciate your passion for the music.I too was a taper from the shows but lost most between moves, etc. What a time to listen to alternative music from the mainstream Top 40 choices. Thank you!!!

Many thanks. Wonderful stuff that I loved the first time around. Am listening to a 1983 Bob Here show right now.

Thanks for doing this! It's great public service to have all of these tapes in the same place where they can be accessed forever. Plus it's better organized than my hard drive ;-)

It's reassuring and wonderful to see you maintaining your blog and sharing such great music some years down the road. Been visiting your blog for years - thank you so much for this latest effort and for all you share!!

Its the best idea all day. No more problems with shitty file hosts and slow speed and no pay required. Hell once you put em up you can keep your blog and just use the archive links.
Bonus. I have been poking around up there and there is much more than most peeps think up there. But its so maddening to search the place. Which makes sense it confuses the trolls as well. But slowly im finding the good and MAKING BOOKMARKS Thats vital. Cause it can become almost hopeless sometimes. And samples ugh, try to avoid them.

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
