Jim posts up a Classic 'HFS Tape From 1982!

This looks totally awesome!

Camarillo,

This tape is worth the wait from my last post.  Taped over three or four days during March and April 1982, this one has sets hosted by Sarah, Milo, and a classic Dave Edmunds and NRBQ fueled Weasel segment.  Really Good Stuff.  As always, if anyone can fill in the blanks on the ‘?’ bands, please leave a comment.

Jim

Hmm, I don't think tha's actually Bonnie Raitt at the end of side 2, but it's a good performance and I'm curious who it is

Hi Ed,
It is Bonnie, from the Green Light LP...Cheers

So it is! I hadn't heard it in so long that I forgot what she sounded like that early on

It's a fine rock n roll album for sure

The ? between Dave Edmonds & Dave Edmonds is "girlfriend's girlfriend" by the Elevators from Northampton Mass. Weasel says so on another tape I got from you.

Thanks Winston, I remember Weasel used to play it a lot but hadn't heard it in years before finding these tapes.

Sorta sums it up for me to Pete! All this great tuneage is what made 'HFS the best! I grabbed almost all these albums as a result, and still look for some I missed after another listen 30+ years later...

Pete, Thanks for the complete list. In those days, I didn't write anything down. After getting married, my wife convinced me to take the extra time up front and write down what was on the Mix tapes that I made for her, but that wouldn't be until 4 years after I recorded these tapes....

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
