WHFS Adelle, Shared by Bill

Two years ago Bill sent me scores of cassettes. I just never did get around to ripping them. Almost none of them have any labels on them. Most are WHFS, some are Mix Tapes. You won't find many commercials or DeeJay song run downs. Bill was just taping the tunes...I'll post the ones that are clearly 'HFS tapes. We can try to guess the dates...
I'll start off with a good one...

Marty Jones, Jason and the Scorchers, Los Lobos, Kim Wilde, March Violets, Death Comet, Richard Thompson, Iggy Pop

133MB, MP3@320, 62 Minutes

And where did you go Death Comet?
In between brewing beers and such, I would put a tape on the deck and romp around the place. If I was paying attention, I would run to the player and hit pause while HFS would do commercials. It didn't dawn on me that this magical era would ever end and thus I drowned out the talk for the glorious tunes.

Hey...stuff happens..I used to do the same, then later while listening I'd be like...dang who was that group? Anyways...I'm looking forward to checking them out finally!

Jim: When I moved to Chicago, I would still listen to the tapes and wonder about the songs. When the web opened, I sent a tape of unknown but great songs to a guy in California. He got most of them starring the
Spoons (Nova Heart) and the Chemeleons UK (my favorite band). Like I said before this HFS website of yours was a gift from the great beyond.

Okay, I've been visiting your site briefly for some time, but had never considered trying one of the broadcasts. However, Richard Thompson and Jason & the Scorchers was too good a combination - thanks for doing this project - this is some pretty great stuff!

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
