WHFS 102.3 VII Mark Then Milo 01-21-1983 From DaveB

Another great set of late night WHFS from January 21 1983. Solid tunes from Mark and Milo. It's awesome Dave shared these tapes isn't it? Most of the ones I taped then shared were from the morning and afternoon. I had a job with days off during the week and would tape during the day. It's a real treat to get some overnight stuff! Thanks again Dave!

Another tape recorded sometime after midnight... The Milo tape was probably later in day (i.e., later the next evening); September 30, 2009 at 7:31 PM

It is funny how music can mark a time/place in your mind... I am listening to VIII/Modern English... After hearing this ONLY on HFS, I started hearing it about 5 years later in San Francisco -- while I was there on work/vacation and driving up through Napa Valley... I will never forget hearing that and driving through th country side. Now... whenever I hear this on one of those "retro" hours, I think of that trip, and these tapes, and how lucky we were to hear such cool music early on...; September 30, 2009 at 8:42 PM

But rest assured, if the person you are talking to is anything like me, they are probably reciting something they have heard and memorized from a tape like one of these... ;) There were so many cool one-liners that these dj's just uttered or rambled about... Weasel and all of the others were great at that... esp. the trivia that they could come up with... I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- only on HFS...

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........
