Trisha Yearwood A&E Live By Request

This cool Trisha Yearwood show was recorded from a live broadcast of A&E's "Live By Request". I'm sure there are plenty of folks out there that will say WTF!....But this show for the most part completely kicks butt. She has a hot band backing her up. Some pretty good rockin' and funky tunes as well as some ballads from Trisha.
My buddy Fred, that plays in a local Bluegrass band, turned me on to her a couple of years ago, and I was like, gimme a break. Have to admit tho, Trisha does have some good stuff. Not all of it, but plenty there for me.
I ripped this to my hard drive a while back.

1) Perfect Love (3:06)
2) X's And O's (2:58)
3) There Goes My baby (3:44)
4) Real Live Woman (3:52)
5) Too Bad Your No good (3:54)
6) Everybody Knows (3:20)
7) The Song Remembers When (4:04)
8) Believe Me Baby I Lied (3:42)
9) Where Are You Now (3:32)
10) She's In Love With The Boy (4:14)
11) Walkaway Joe (4:30)
12) On A Bus To St. Cloud (4:32)
13) Wrong Side Of Memphis (3:24)
14) That's What I Like About You (2:43)
15) Over The Rainbow (3:09)

Hadn't heard that Brian Briggs tune in a while.

BRIAN BRIGGS SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE LYRICS

Frankie was a modder, the King of Merton Park,
in his triple sole, brown suede floaters,
he could run fast in the dark.
Big Moe stepped on his toe
so to get Moe off his back,
he played hooky,
to play chicken,
down on the railroad tracks.

Goodbye Frankie
So long.
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Frankie and Moe rode their scooters to the corner of Camley and Rue,
they waited at the end of the tunnel for the 309 to come through.

Frankie smiled and spit on the ground
the 309 was on time,
He knew Moe would never have the guts
to be the last one over the line.

Goodbye Frankie
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Goodbye Frankie
(so long)
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Frankie waited far too long
you could see in his face this was it,
Frankie knew he'd never beat that train
and he didn't give a shit.

(scooter sounds)

Goodbye Frankie
so long mate.
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Goodbye Frankie
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Goodbye Frankie
(so long)
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Goodbye Frankie
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

Goodbye Frankie
(so long)
Goodbye Frankie,
I'll see you on the other side.

This is 2 Maxell UDXLII 90 minute cassette tapes of Diane from January 27th, 1983, 6:00-10:00 AM. I figured out the date of this show because UPI World News mentions Paul "Bear" Bryant's death from the day before and Diane says happy Thursday morning to you. WHFS Tapes Shared By Robbie: Milo, Kim, Susan, Jan 22, 23, 1983

Robbie must have stayed up all night to record this set.
It is 8 hours straight starting Saturday evening around 10:00 PM, and ending at 6:00 in the morning. It took most of six 90 Minute Maxell UDXLII tapes to do it. The last tape only had about 30 minutes that I ripped and posted. The rest of it was Sunday Morning public service stuff that I left off.
Back in those days, these tapes were about $3 bucks a piece. I know I could never afford to drop $18.00 on an evening taping WHFS, let alone, stay up all night doing it. As you know 90% of my tapes were taped in the middle of the day on my days off. So it's a real treat to get an overnighter here. Leave some feedback and thank Robbie for spending the cash so that you can hear HQ WHFS today from back in the day! It's one awesome post of cool 'HFS tunes from 1983. Enjoy!

WHFS 102.3 Milo then Sarah Jan 21 & 22 1983: Shared By Robbie

Here is 4.5 hours of WHFS D.J.'s Milo and Sarah.
Milo is from Friday night the 21st of Jan 1983.
Sarah is from Saturday afternoon the 22nd of Jan 1983.
I figured out the dates because Sarah gives updates of the NFC Championship game that was played on the 22nd of Jan 1983. Dallas Vs. Washington. After the 'Skins defeat the Cowboys 31-17 she's plays "Ding Dong The Witch is Dead" in tribute. Pretty cool.
I wasn't able to provide a setlist. To hard to do trying to answer the phone and emails so you will just have to listen. Plenty of Reggae, New Wave and Punk. If you know 'HFS and the DJ's from 1983 you know what to expect. So far these tapes from Robbie sound great! Thanks Robbie!

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
