Don't let this one get away. Great guitars and great show. Cool references to the election year between Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr.

Update 11-13 Encore: Thanks Mark!

thanks so much for this show!!! I am a big Richard Thompson fan. He is so brilliant, and it is so hard to find live unreleased material. So very few people even are aware of him. It's a real shame. He should have been a superstar by now.

You are doing a great job with this blog. I taped a bunch of shows from HFS as well. Most of mine didn't survive. I still have this one, but there is a lot of flutter. It's nice to have a good copy of it. Did you get the encore "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place"? I can rip it if you want.

WVKayaker said...

If it's not on the playist then i don't have it here

WVKayaker said...

I posted the encore for anyone who wants it

The encore seems to be dead. Any chance you could repost?

Thank you - I had this on tape for years, and some of it was released by RT himself as MORE GUITAR available on his website but it's great to have the broadcast all in one place.

great blog!

Many thanks CB, for posting this great show, and props to multielvi for the fascinating encore.

With respect to the latter, I wonder if anyone else thinks it's on the slow side. I had some fun playing around with it on Quicktime Player, which can change tempo without changing pitch. I think it sounds better about 15-25% faster.

Happy New Year everyone!

I haven't noticed...old ears I guess,
Happy New Year to you too!

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
