Wow... it is GREAT seeing these come alive online. This was one of my alltime favorites!

Tapes like this kept me going through school, and encouraged me to go find the LP's/EP's which I ended up buying as well... Awesome to see this stuff online now for all to share

Thanks so much to CB for posting these for me. I can't tell you how happy I am to see them here.

I can tell you Dave that this would have been a favorite of mine as well...completely enjoyed every minute of it! Like you, I sought all the bands recorded work I loved on my tapes. Pretty much never heard them anyplace else...
It's def a keeper!

DaveB has informed me that this is not actually a radio tape but one of his "Jams" mix tapes that was placed in the wrong tape case. It's still a good one but it's not WHFS...those that downloaded please correct your files accordingly

My apologies to all that downloaded this thinking that it was an HFS tape... it was supposed to be, but apparently I "spaced" when putting it back in the case one evening/day, and, .... well, lets just suffice it to say I F'd this up for us all... I will work to get you guys the REAL XV tape, and hopefully it will be even better than the "lame" tape I provided...

Sorry about that folks...

Well, now I am totally confused...

I have the tape case for Tape XV, and it lists all of the tunes on that tape... BUT... There is also a tape in the case labeled JAMS XV (?)... so I don't know what that means anymore... my whole life is upside down (:))

Anyway -- for anyone/everyone that liked the tape, here is what is on it...

Side A:
Malcolm McLaren-Madam Butterfly
Bruce Cockburn-Making Contact
Roxy Music-Dance the Night Away
Echo and the Bunnymen-Heads will Roll
Siouxsie and the Banshees-The Sweetest Chill
Peter Schilling-Major Tom (Coming Home) and Major Tom PtII
David Bowie-Wild is the Wind
Dire Straits-Brothers in Arms
Fine Young Cannibals-Johnny,Come Home

Side B:
The Nails-Things You Left Behind
Echo and the Bunnymen-The Killing Moon
XTC-Melt the Guns
Peter Gabriel-In Your Eyes
Beatles-Within You/Without You
David Sylvian-Bamboo Houses
CSNY-Country Girl
Boys Don't Cry-I Want to be a Cowboy
Lou Reed-I Love You

Not a bad set of tunes, but not HFS Either (although I know I have heard almost all of these tunes on HFS at some point, this wasn't one of their "hours"...

My apologies for the confusion...

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
