WHFS 102.3 Weasel Frantic Friday July 3rd 1983

Had to combine two files from a music CDR of a tape sent in with the tapes from Tom of Kensington to produce this one file. Too bad it ran out before I could catch the rundown from Weasel. One of the tunes I am curious about is, what is probably what Queen covered, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"...would like to know who that original artist was...
Anyways it's a nice line up great tunes,

The Pole Cats, Nervous Eaters, Mickey Jump. Joe King Carossco, The Stones, The Marvelettes, Martha Reeves, The Belle Stars, Little Anna Bella, Billy Idol, Men Without Hats and more...

But ... that IS Queen doing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love!" It's an original by Freddie Mercury.

It just sounded like an older version to me for some reason...

Could you repost the Bob "Here" Showacre 1986 Christmas show? I seem to have lost the files on that one.

Thanks!

It looks like that was the intro of it. The files I had were qty 4 from you. 12-24-86 A B, C, and then D. It was 4 parts. If you still have it I would love to hear it.

Thanks,

Thanks again and Merry Christmas! You have made my holidays a great one. I was so sad to read about Bob Showacre passing on back in September. I got nostalgic to hear his voice and his Christmas show. it's been an annual tradition for me since 2007 to listen to this show!

Thanks again for all you have done to share your tapes and WHFS memories.

The other files were in a different folder. Took me a while to find them in the 17 CDs (folders) that Bob (note Here) shared with me. The passing of Bob "Here" was a sad one for sure. Glad you can listen to these again. And a Merry one to you too VanFan.

Thanks again. Looks like the only file missing is 12-24-86 A. It must be on CD 4. If you have time, I would love it if you'd zippy that one as well. I now have B, C, and D. Just need "A" and I have the whole enchilada. Again, thanks so much!

Jim (Kayaker),

Thanks again! It worked - downloading it now. Ever since you posted this in 2007 it's become a holiday tradition for me.

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
