I'd love to have this, but , thanX, NOT in a shitty bit rate of 64 kbps! Bye bye

What a great setlist! Thanks for this excellent show. Been in a Joe Jackson mood due to the HFS Diane tapes where she played lots of cuts from Jumpin' Jive. VanFan

Thanks for this great early Joe Jackson! (I taped a similiar show with i think the same setlist off the radio in '79 from one of the New York/Long Island stations maybe WLIR or WNEW, but i had a crappy tape deck way back then and lost that tape years ago, so i thank you for saving/transferring this classic energetic performance!) Good Archiving! -Dan

Dan,
Thanks for the comments, I've seen that bootleg floating around somewhere. Try Nargo The Boart or Hear Rock City
this one is awesome, enjoy!

In '79 I was working in retail vinyl music... A&M distributed a video cassette of Joe Jackson back then, a live show with some of these tunes, this was when VCRs were new and really expensive, few people had one. I've got that vid stashed somewhere. We also had an amazing video cassette of music videos by Stiff artists, like Ian Dury, Lene Lovich, etc., but someone beat me to it. - JS

WOW! I wish I had found your blog earlier!! What a great concert (that is what I can still remember of it) would love to be able to listen to it. This was my first Joe Jackson concert, then saw Elvis for the first time two months later at the Warner, and saw my "third angry young man" Graham Parker a few months later. All three are still in my top ten favorite artists!!!
Thanks,
Daniel

That's an impressive trifecta of shows for sure!

Missed this one also, and the other "three angry young men" you had re-posted. If you could do so again, it would be really appreciated. I have to stop looking at your blog, it's depressing for me seeing all these great shows on your blog, and not being able to hear them! I am enjoying listening to some of the old WHFS tapes!
Thanks,
Daniel

First let me thank you for re-posting a number of your older post, unfortunately I have been unable to use NitroFlare to download any of the re-posts. I e-mailed NitroFlare, they said register, which I did and it still won't work for me! I don't know if it's me or not, as I'm terrible with computers, but would it be possible to re-up them with Zippy?
Thanks,
Daniel

Daniel, are you able to download the Zip File at all?
You have to toggle down to the 'free download' and click that, wait for a que and enter a 'captcha'. Have to be careful of all the other crap on there that misleads you into clicking other links. You should be able to figure it out. Maybe you can email them back and ask detailed questions. I was able to download from them for free with out registering. It's slow as hell, and they limit your downloads per hour

Well, since you were there...I mean...

OMG!!! you are the man! This is incredible!!!
May I ask why not use Zippy all the time, it's fast & easy to use, even for computer challenged, like myself!?!
Thank you so much, this has made my day!!!
Thanks,
Daniel

What This Is All About

I've been collecting live music from various sources since the mid to late 70's. Radio shows, TV broadcasts, radio show pre-FM CD's and vinyl LP's and some trades. Most of the shows posted here, I recorded and ripped myself. I always had top of the line stereo equipment and cassette and open reel recorders for those on air broadcasts.

I've downloaded plenty of bootlegged concerts from various blogs. As a rule I will only post stuff from my collection and not what is already available out there.

I also post out of print CDs and LPs from my collection.
I will repost from my readers anything someone sends me as long as it is either out of print or something that's not from someone else's blog. If you want to share a link for a cool item on your blog, or someone else's, please feel free to post it in the comments........

Enjoy and please leave a comment and pass this blog along.

Can you believe that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS? Amazing!

If you leave a comment, how about using a nickname instead of Anonymous. At least make up something please. Thanks!

I have reconsidered my position...and will re-upload dead links, so long as you go to that particular post and make the request from the comments page...
