WHFS 102.3 FM October 1981 With David Behind The Mic.

Now this is what makes this blog biz worth all the work. Jim shared two 60 minute tapes for me to share today. Here's his verbage from today's email:

Camarillo,

Thanks for your reply and offer to post the links to my HFS tapes.

I’ve posted the first set of tape/.mp3 files up on zippyshare.  So feel free to link to them when you get the opportunity.

These four files contain two 60 minute cassettes worth of WHFS 102.3 FM with David behind the mic.  Both tapes are from October 1981, although I’m uncertain whether they were taped the same day.  Regardless, file A flows into B and file C flows into D.  An added bonus is that I let the tapes roll through the back announcing, news features, and commercials so you get the whole HFS experience.

Hope to have more files ready soon.

Jim

Tape 2

How sweet is that? Thanks so much Jim!!

  1. It's a real treat to get WHFS tapes prior to 1983. I have precious few. Listening to Tape 1 Side 1 right now. Sweeeet!

  4. David back announced 'Snips' on the tape so I guess the old one although I couldn't find anything that dated the song or band back that far.

  7. Now that's a coincidence. I was motivated to re-up these after seeing a Facebook post by Robbie White of a Unicorn Times ad from 1980 promoting David's shows on WHFS.
