The Wanktones: Live at the Fontana Bowlarama

Here's a kick butt rawkin' CD from my collection.

Featuring Mark Noone of D.C.'s Slickee Boys. "They just about put any other rockabilly band to shame." The Wanktones 'Live At Fontana Bowlarama' is excellent American Rockabilly from a great 4-piece who rock like crazy. Their music is fast 'n' rockin', featuring some mean twangy guitar licks and great vocals.

This is a fine demonstration of this band's broad range of talent. While keeping it light and lots of fun, the Wanktones move from stone-cold rockabilly into hardcore C&W without missing a beat. A great performance from this wild foursome, they also do a wonderful version of the Irish classic "Danny Boy." With some Bob Wills and some Buck Owens thrown in for good measure, the Wanktones prove they are one of the hottest live acts around. With the authentic sounds of real bowlers in the background, there is something seriously authentic about this band and this recording. While a studio project can be manipulated and made to sound great, the real test of a performer's mettle is the live performance, and the Wanktones pass with flying colors. ~ Jana Pendragon, All Music Guide

Ersel Wank, Del Marva, Moe Sloe and Hooter McFeeley careen recklessly down the highway on this one. 14 tracks, including "Hoy Hoy", "Little Pig", "Cotton Pickin' Rocker", "Danny Boy" and a bunch of other classics. The pins were crashing and the beer glasses clankin' on this one.
