ReplyDeleteIt's a good one. Thanks again for your feedback VanFan.
ReplyDeletemoogmayhem....thanks again for the link!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKayaker, you ask on your main page comments: Can you belive that so many out there are starving for the old WHFS?
ReplyDeleteThis Weasel tape is "exhibit A" in the case of why so many of us are starving for the old HFS! This radio show/playlist is pure genius the way that Weasel mixes up rockabilly, rock and roll, neo rockabilly, new wave etc.
BTW, I had to drive up to Rockville, MD this week for a business meeting and it was like I was in a time capsule listening to this Weasel show while driving on Rockville Pike! I even made a detour to Joe's Record Paradise on E. Gude Drive to buy a few slabs of wax. Bought some Joe Jackson - Jumpin' Jive on LP, a new CD reissue of Root Boy Slim's 2nd LP called "ZOOM", the Nighthawks CD reissue on GENES called "Side Pocket Shot" and a whole bunch of other HFS style music. This blog has reignited my love for all the great HFS music from the 70s/80s. Thanks again Kayaker for taking the time and trouble to spread this great music and to continue the legacy/keep the flame alive for HFS.

VanFan,
ReplyDeleteyou deliver the best feeback dude...Weasel's shows are a blast to listen to. Hard to believe you can hear him on 94.7. Yet he is so goddamned constrained. It's pitiful. But, hey, everyone has to make a living. Same with Cerphe.
Stay tuned. Another reel to reel tape is fresh out of the oven, the tape heads have been cleaned, demagnetized, and the rubber roller for the capstan got a new application of rubber restorer. It's 3 hours of Damian and David. Hope to get it up tomorrow.
Kayaker, I will be looking for another freshly baked HFS tape comin' out of the oven and making it's way to my hard drive! Awesome.

p.s. I gotta find the time to listen to some more WRNR too....those mono tapes are amazing quality. Those RNR midnight tapes are loads of fun.
The 'RNR tapes are every bit as good as the 'HFS tapes. And Craig plays great tunes.
ReplyDelete1/2 way through the new tape. Gonna half to wait 'til after the 'Skins game for the rest...
Probably be Sunday...
Yep, watchin' the Skins too....nothing going right for them right now - late in 2nd qtr...hope things turn around soon.

ReplyDeleteI was only depressed for a few minutes....then I put on some Johnny Seaton and Danny Gatton and my mood ring was glowing nice and happy!
