Jim posts up a Classic 'HFS Tape From 1982!

This looks totally awesome!

Camarillo,

This tape is worth the wait from my last post.  Taped over three or four days during March and April 1982, this one has sets hosted by Sarah, Milo, and a classic Dave Edmunds and NRBQ fueled Weasel segment.  Really Good Stuff.  As always, if anyone can fill in the blanks on the ‘?’ bands, please leave a comment.

Jim

Side 1- Sarah then Milo

Sarah: Pylon, Delta 5, Altered Images, Jonathon Richman and the Modern Lovers, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Bush Tetras.
Milo: The Waitresses, Swingin’ Madisons, The Heartbreakers, The Ramones, X, Patti Smith Group, The Animals

Side 2- Milo then Weasel

Milo: Richard and Linda Thompson, XTC, Simple Minds, The Teardrop Explodes, The Specials (Milo’s Theme).
Weasel: Talking Heads, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Nervous Eaters, NRBQ, Dave Edmunds, ?, Dave Edmunds (again), NRBQ (again), Bonnie Raitt

  4. Hmm, I don't think tha's actually Bonnie Raitt at the end of side 2, but it's a good performance and I'm curious who it is

  8. The ? between Dave Edmonds & Dave Edmonds is "girlfriend's girlfriend" by the Elevators from Northampton Mass. Weasel says so on another tape I got from you.

  9. Thanks Winston, I remember Weasel used to play it a lot but hadn't heard it in years before finding these tapes.

  11. Sorta sums it up for me to Pete! All this great tuneage is what made 'HFS the best! I grabbed almost all these albums as a result, and still look for some I missed after another listen 30+ years later...

  12. Pete, Thanks for the complete list. In those days, I didn't write anything down. After getting married, my wife convinced me to take the extra time up front and write down what was on the Mix tapes that I made for her, but that wouldn't be until 4 years after I recorded these tapes....
