Robbie sent me these files some time ago. There are two 90 minute tapes, 3 hours straight, from July 30th 1988, two 90 minute tapes, 3 hours straight, from August 6th 1988, and one 45 minute tape from August 13th 1988. Adelle was one of my favorites and it was a delight to hear her again.
Grab them while the links are still alive, and thanks again to Robbie for sharing!

WHFS 102.3FM TAPES FROM ROBBIE
Robbie kindly mailed CDs to me containing 6 90 minute tapes of WHFS taped in 1983.
I sampled some of them, and frankly the sound is pretty bad in parts. I suspect warped, stretched tapes, playback azimuth not calibrated, or just plain cheap tapes. Some of it is unlistenable in my opinion. The 1st Weazel tape for example, has extreme wow and flutter in the beginning, but smooths out later on. I don't have time to listen to them all, so I am just gonna post 'em all now.
There is plenty of good stuff in here, so if you crave more HFS from the 102.3 era, here ya go.
In no means am I bustin' Robbie's chops here. It is what it is. The man has sent a wealth of music to post here and I thank him for that!
Each download contains two sides of a 90 minute tape, MP3@192

The WHFS 99.1 Precursor- WLOM 99.1 The First 2 Days
I took far too long to post this. My good buddy Robbie W. sent me some CD's of the first 2 days of WLOM which would soon become WHFS @99.1FM In Annapolis, MD.
The below info was copied from wikipedia.
In 1983 the owners of WHFS, then licensed to Bethesda at 102.3 FM, sold that station for $2 million and used the money to purchase WLOM along with and its sister station WNAV (1430 AM). The WHFS format and call letters were then moved to 99.1 FM, licensed to operate with 50,000-watts (Class B FM) with much higher power than the 102.3 facility, which broadcasts with only 3,000 watts (Class A) at the time; a Class A FM is the lowest coverage area as opposed to a Class A AM which is the greatest coverage area. Thus WHFS on 99.1 could then be heard in Baltimore, Washington, and much of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Eventually Einstein's group sold WHFS.
I'm listening to part 1 now...pretty dang sweet! Enjoy! And huge thanks again to Robbie!
Each file is 45 minutes long.
