Dick Lillard was a part time DJ on WHFS that had a show based on the roots of rock n roll. Blues, R&B, Country, Rock-a-Billy and whatever that might be considered the roots of rock. Rare and hard to find stuff from Dick's personal collection. A great listen and an important little listen in American music. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThanx for sharing your WHFS tapes. In the mid-80's I had moved to Baltimore and was thrilled when I found WHFS. I, too, used to record their programs on casette so I could listen to them on my bi-weekly trips back to New Jersey. I did that for about ten years. Unfortunately, over time I foolishly got rid of the tapes. I wish I had keep them. Thanx for sharing your (our) history with the rest of us. It is very much appreciated.
njjoe,
ReplyDeleteyour not the 1st one to comment on losing, or ditching their old tapes. I dumped all my old Beta-HI-FI videe tapes when my machine broke down. I'm still kicking myself for that. Buncha live concerts from the 80's from MTV. oh well..hope you get a few back here and enjoy listening to them.
thanks for the feedback!
