with Record Store Day approaching I replayed the 2013 Joe's Record Paradise reunion of HFS DJ's, and then went into nostalgia overdrive and found your blog. Wonderful stuff here, wish I could access some of it all these years later. Bob Showacre was my favorite ever. I once bought an LP from Joe's and when I laid it on the counter he grinned at me and simply said "Bob Here". Captured my love of music, HFS, and Bob's show in just two words. Two shows stand out in my mind all these years later. Bob was on the air Christmas Eve in the evening for a couple of years on 99.1, and the first of those was amazing -- not only the music, but even more so because of his words throughout the night. The other seemed to be just another nightly chat with Weasel as their studio time overlapped, so after 10 minutes I turned off the radio thinking I would just tune in again on Monday. A lot of old stories were discussed and I thought maybe it was an anniversary for Bob. Found out the next week that it was his last show on HFS, although I caught him a few times on RNR afterwards. Would love to be able to download those broadcasts. I hope I still have a live recording that started on Bob's show, of Clive Gregson & Christine Collister at the Birchmere. If I can find it I'll transfer to MP3 and upload it. Keep up the great work!
That's a great comment. The Bob 'Here' was awesome. here's more than five tapes to get you through... http://nitroflare.com/view/DB43C5932300B36/CD_4.zip
