This is a 3 CD rip of a 3 hour Open Reel Tape from 1978 of WGTB 90.1FM Georgetown University Radio Station. The show was THE HARD IMPLOSION another all night hard rock music show played on the now infamous college radio station. It's packed with 70's hard rock and stoned D.J.s. Gotta get this one if your a fan of undergound college radio of the mid 70's.
MP3 @320kbps 3 CDs (3 files) 195 minutes total.

Thanks a million! GTB helped form the unusual musical tastes I have to this day. I used to visit the studios often in the 70's, everyone there was so cool. They gave me free concert tickets and let me hang out when cool bands like Face Dancer and Happy The Man played. Great times!
ReplyDeleteI knew if I left this here long enough, someone would stumble on it and rediscover a rare gem from the past. Thanks for the feeback smokenan!
ReplyDeleteI received a turntable that converts vinyl to MP3 for Xmas. I got out a Yesterday & Today album (aka Y&T) from 1976 (I was 6 then:-( ) to listen to it and noticed on the sleve inside was written in pencil, WGTB 90.1. I did a search and found this. Downloading now. I wonder if this record was actually used at the station? I picked it up at a flea market about 6 years ago. It's amazing what some people still have and as amazing that the rest of us can find stuff like this on the internet! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteChas, thanks for the awesome feedback!
ReplyDeleteIt probably did come from the station. You'll find Yesterday & Today played on some of the 'GTB Tapes. Enjoy and get 'em all!
Anyone know how Frank Creasey is doing? I knew him when I was a teen in the 70s..
