This post is WHFS, DJ Diane, from assorted dates in 1983. These tapes are straight up recordings with commercials, news, public service anouncments and of course tons of great music. I got this in a trade from "Bob". I traded to him, all my WHFS music ripped to my hard drive as well as my WRNR and WGTB music. Hope you don't mind me sharing Bob. It's a big file.

great blog and great post, but you can only download this one with a premium account from megaupload due to its huge size. any chance of splitting it? something to consider next time. thank you.
ReplyDeleteI'm a junkie for HFS but not going to pay $200 bucks for it. I have faith you will figure something out. thanks again.
ReplyDeletedon't know why you would pay $200 for megaupload unless you want alifetime membership. Get a free account and wait between uploads or for $10.00 you can download like crazy for a month. Pretty cheap service.
ReplyDeleteSplitting up is a pain. Bite the bullet. For the price of a bargain CD you can download stuff for a month.
ReplyDeleteGrew up in Fairfax on a steady diet of HFS. This is just plain wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI have my own recordings, of lesser quality, if you're interested.

ReplyDeleteSure, would be interested in obtaining anything you want to share and will glady repost them here if you want.
Great,
ReplyDeleteMy e-mail is jebaxt@sbcglobal.net. Go ahead and send me an e-mail, and I'll send you the links, once I figure out how to work the technology. I've never uploaded this much stuff before.
As far as sharing, feel free. I just wanted to return the favor. These posts are excellent.
jebaxt's HFS tapes have been posted...He sent another that will be posted soon...
ReplyDeleteThanks Josh!
Does anyone have any WHFS recordings from the early 70s? That's what I'm nostalgic for.

what he said!
ReplyDeleteThere's a tape of Cerphe from the early 70's posted now so grab it while you can
ReplyDeleteDiane 5-13-83 show:
ReplyDeleteDiane gets into a swing and blues theme that is priceless....some Joe Jackson, Tom Waits all kinds of stuff....all played from vinyl (remember, this is still the pre CD era....CDs were only a very small niche in the market)......just classic HFS. Love to hear the pops/clicks from the vinyl in the headphones!
Kayaker, got a chance to really fall back in love with Diane after all these years! After all, she woke me up many a morning back in the day! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love the show where she plays New Musik, Simple Minds, Flock Of Seagulls and that great cover of Like A Hurricane by Roxy Music. Just some great music here from Diane. She had a very nice voice to wake up to as well. I sure miss her and Adele - they were truly great.

She is sorely missed...but brought back to life!
