Thomas Dolby Extended Remixes (not 12x12 CD)

This is an assortment from my collection of extended remixes and alternative versions from Thomas Dolby. This is not the Thomas Dolby CD "12X12", (that contains a few of these remixes). All sources are from 12" glorious vinyl. 19 tunes in all. If your into much much more than "Blinded By Science", then check these out. If I get any responses from this I'll rip the audio of a Thomas Dolby concert I have circa 1983 or so.
As a request from the comments section, below is a link for Hyperactive that was not included because the 12" is not a remix. Since I included the Hyperactive single photo I thought I would rip it today and add it, as well as "Windpower [High Power Extended Play]" and "Flying North [High Altitude Extended Play]" (from the 12x12 CD) since I don't have that vinyl and it is pictured as well.

  1. this is very nice. And I have these on vynil somewhere, but it's been 20 years since I listened to 'em. I missed 'Blinded by Science", as it is a great song.

  6. You show a picture of the Hyperactive 12", but didn't see it in the download.

BTW - nice to come across another Zappa Freak.

  8. Camarillo,

Thanks a lot and I'm gratefull of this collections. However, can you please write a quick list, where each songs come from the respective vinyl? I try to refer to this : http://www.dolbyscube.com/cgi-bin/td.cgi?f=12 , but the collections that I download is still a little bit confusing.

I appreciate it once again, and thanks

  11. anonymous,
The reason I left "Hyperactive" out is because on the 12" single it is the same version as the LP "The Flat Earth" and so not a remix. However, since it is pictured, I ripped it this morning and added it as well as "Windpower [High Power Extended Play]" and "Flying North [High Altitude Extended Play]" (from the 12x12 CD since I don't have that vinyl and it is pictured as well)

  14. Sorry, the link that you provide ( http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Lot/8142/music/) take me to the folder. Which files you mean?

    Thanks

  15. Honestly, I thought the guy was a little left of center. But.....when you listen to his music and he does have a bunch of degrees(doctorates)it just fits in with his talents. These mixes are priceless.......One of our submarines, should have recieved more accolades. Speaking of Live Wireless wasn't there a show of his Mtv put out in 83. I remember seeing a Romantics show, then Pat Benatar, and then the Tom Dolby show following those. I seem to recall it was on the west coast?

  16. I don't know but if you find it post a link here please!
BTW, "One Of Our Submarines" is a song about his uncle, whom died in WWII aboard a British Sub...
Thanks for stopping by and leaving you comments!

  19. You're welcome...I'm surprised it's still available since rapidshare deleted all my files years ago...enjoy!

  20. Well, they aren't available anymore... It's a shame I discovered your blog that late!

I assume there's no way to put them back, right? I wanted to thank you for sharing nonetheless! These are rarities -you sure made lots of people happy by posting them.

I'm sad to hear that the whole blog is now closed, I suppose filesharing was becoming way too difficult. You did a fantastic job... Even if I come way after the fight, and I can only judge by the remainings of it.

  24. Boy, someone really doesn't want that collection up. A shame, I was looking for the extended version of "One Of Our Submarines" (b side of the "She Blinded Me With Science" 12 inch) which sent shivers down my spine as an impressionable teenager back in the day.

Some day I hope to find a clean vinyl rip to 96/24 FLAC. Until then, if you've got the song kicking about in the collection, might I trouble you for a re-up please?
